A clothes brush needs very little maintenance — occasional cleaning of the bristles is all that is required.

• After brushing garments, use a lint roller or your fingers to pull any trapped fibres from the bristle tips
• For a deeper clean, work a small amount of mild shampoo into the bristles with a damp toothbrush, rinse, and allow to air dry bristle-side down
• Store in a dust bag or box when not in use to protect the bristles from dust and shedding
• Avoid getting the wooden back or handle excessively wet
