The Kent MN11 is made from solid ebony wood, one of the densest and most prized hardwoods in the world, hand-polished to a deep mirror-like finish. The bristles are pure white boar, individually set by hand into the wood base. Every MN11 is handcrafted in England using methods unchanged since 1777.

After each use, lift out any trapped hair with a comb or your fingers. For routine cleaning, lightly dampen a soft cloth and wipe the wood surface. For deeper cleaning, swirl the bristles gently in a small bowl of lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap, then shake out excess water and allow to dry bristle-down on a towel. Never soak the brush or submerge it as water will loosen the bristle setting over time.

A properly cared-for Kent MN11 will last decades, many last a lifetime or longer. The ebony wood is exceptionally hard and resistant to wear. The boar bristle, when kept clean and dry, does not splay or deteriorate the way synthetic bristles can. Kent has been making these brushes since 1777, and antique Kent brushes from a century ago are still in working condition.

Both are oval military hair brushes handmade in England. The MG2 uses beechwood and pure black boar bristle, a refined daily-use brush that performs exceptionally well. The MN11 uses solid hand-polished ebony wood with individually set pure white boar bristle and sits at a significantly higher price point.
